Negotiations Update: Thursday 3-16-17- B.E.A. and BCSD Initial Proposals

Initial Proposal from the
Burlington Education Association
To the
Burlington Community School District

March 16, 2017


The Association proposes current contract language for all articles and
items with the following exceptions:

Labor Management Committee
The Association and the District agree to establish a joint Labor Management
Committee.  The purpose of this committee is to collaboratively discuss and
make decisions regarding employment matters not referred to in the master
contract and other matters mutually agreed upon.  The committee shall
consist of (8) members in all with (4) District appointees and (4)
Association appointees in addition, the District and the Association may
each have (1) non-voting representative or participant.  The committee will
operate under the rules and guidelines established during the restructuring
meeting of February 15, 2017.

Base Wages
The Association proposes a yearly salary increase of 3%.


Duration
This Agreement shall be effective the 1st day of July, 2017 and shall
continue in force and effect until the 30th day of June, 2022.
